Story

Given the success of our National Parks capsule collection of plaids, we’re happy to expand the offering of casual shirting with fresh checks and plaids in two signature collars: the casual point and small button down. Nineteen new shirts are available now, inspired by the parks in our hometown of Washington, DC.

We also refined the design of our casual shirting - notably, slightly shorter hem to be more comfortable worn untucked, a single breast pocket in our casual point style with a pen holder, and a better fit for a casual shirt.

This Dumbarton shirt is cut from a blue, pink plaid poplin fabric.

Design

• Interlined (reinforced) casual collar without the need for collar stays
• Slightly shorter hem for untucked wear

Fabric

Egyptian cotton is a particular variety that is grown in only a few other places. It is renowned as some of the best in the world. It has an extra long staple, which means it has longer fibers, resulting in a silkier, more durable fabric. Poplin, sometimes called broadcloth, is a plain weave which means the threads alternately cross over and then under each other. This results in a very smooth and durable fabric that has an almost silky hand feel, particularly with higher thread counts. Also, poplins look very crisp when ironed.

Sizing
